Stinky hole in the ground

I decided to hang on in Rotarua rather than Raglan for my extra day so I enjoyed the first PROPER lie in for ages and woke up around 10am to an empty room. I wandered down to Kuirau thermal park across the road from the hostel and walked around the stinky steaming pools of mud for a while, before setting off on a little walk around the town. I ended up at the lake for a while, watching the black swans (another first for me) before walking to meet Caroline, one of the girls on my bus in the south island and her cousin for lunch. After eating we headed to the Agrodome, a farming experience near to Rotarua. We paid up for the sheep show and we entertained by a funny demonstration of many breeds of sheep, sheepdog herding, sheep shearing and finally cow milking. It was a good laugh, and afterwards we had photos with some of the sheep and with the baby lambs. It's all about the wildlife at the moment!

I left Caroline to go to the Luge and got some shopping done in town before heading back to the hostel for dinner, chores and another early night to catch up on so many missed hours.
