Drive to Queenstown

Today was mostly a driving day in our oven bus, though we stopped off for a perplexing hour in Puzzling World. Paul, Tom, Lukas and I decided to brave the maze and spent an amusing 45 minutes trying to get out again....
Near to Queenstown we stopped off to jump off the Karawai bridge with elastic tied to our feet. Well, I didn't. I had explained to many people on the bus that 10 years ago I'd done it twice and that I'd never do it again. Seeing the gorgeous river and canyon here though and watching a few jumps I felt the urge return to hurl myself off but decided not to on account of money. It's good to know that the memory of mortal terror I have nurtured all this time has finally been put to rest.
At Queenstown we stopped off at Info & Track booking office and booked our various activities for the next day. They take the hassle out of all the complex arrangements and you get free stuff through them too. Then we booked into a groovy room at the YHA Central and I spent the evening in the Base internet cafe. At 1.30am I crept quietly into our dark room, trying to use my phone as a torch and quietly putting my things down. Then I thought to check the beds and realised I was creeping round an empty room! The others hadn't returned yet.
