The town
We started our trip in Geneva. A nice tourist town but got the impression that its not so much to see really. Good for shopping and wine:-) But we also had really bad rain and that limits your options. But anyway a nice town and pretty easy to get around. The second day after we picked up our car across the boarder in Annemasse,France (a lot cheaper since we are returning the car in France) we drove around the lake geneva. Really nice trip if you choose the road along the water. The third day we drove across the boarder to France.
we took the first night in Albertville, the olympic city. nice small town with some sights, but we still had that trrible rain so we just tooked into a really nice hotel, million stars. The trip went further down towards the sea, threw the Grand Canyon, something everybody must see if they are in that area. The mountains are really beautiful. We took the road Albertville, Grenoble, Gap and down to Sisteron the gate to Provence. From there we went to Digne-les-baines, castellane, Draguignan, Grasse and then Nice. Really beautiful and a little bit of everything. I advise people to pre book hotel in Provence if they are going in august because its hard to find something.
In nice we had our best meal the last night. In the old part og Nice, a place called La Vita, a really nice family run restaurant with excellent food for a nice price. Relly good local wine.
