Podunk 5-0 SUCKS!!!

Clayton Travel Blog › entry 26 of 36 › view trip summary

Number of days on the road: 13. Number of states driven through: 13. Number of miles traveled: over 5700. Number of speeding tickets: 3. The cost of driving cross country: priceless! My cousin and I "took the long" way so that we can see America. Here is my retrospective of that adventure which I would like to share with the TravBuddy world.

Podunk 5-0 SUCKS!!!

So after my speeding ticket in Childress, I drove off heeding to the speed limit all the way through Amarillo.  After the town of Dumas, Texas, we got onto the US-385/US-87 which took us into the north east corner of New Mexico.  After a dinner break in Clayton, Mar took over the driving duties.  As we were about to head out of town, we saw red and blue flashing lights.  Shit...not AGAIN!!!...in the same day!!!  She wasn't speeding!!!  I don't remember what she was pulled over for...Mar...do you remember?...anyways.  It was a bullshit ticket...I guess Podunk 5-0 have nothing else to do but fulfill their ticket quotas at the expense of out-of-state drivers just passing through.

We continued on the US-87 then merged onto Interstate 25 N.  Mar and I couldn't wait to get out of Podunk, New Mexico!!!
