Number of days on the road: 13. Number of states driven through: 13. Number of miles traveled: over 5700. Number of speeding tickets: 3. The cost of driving cross country: priceless! My cousin and I "took the long" way so that we can see America. Here is my retrospective of that adventure which I would like to share with the TravBuddy world.

The Outer Banks

We got into the Outer Banks area in the early evening.  We stayed at the Days Inn at Kill Devil Hills.  The decor of the room was not fancy but it was a suite with a kitchen, regular-sized refrigerator, and 2 tvs.  The best part was an ocean view.  Since it was too dark to sight-see, we opted to take a stroll along the beach. The cool ocean breezes were welcomed since it was hot and humid.

The Days Inn and Suites Kill Devil Hills-Mariner was a very nice place. The ocean view was amazing in the morning...its a sight not to be missed. Our suite was huge...I think we got booked into a 1 bedroom efficiency suite that had a living room and kitchen. The kitchen was fully stocked with stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker, toaster, pots/pans, dishes, and even silverware! The location and amenities...free hi speed wireless internet, oceanfront pool and gazebo, beach access, complimentary continental breakfast and FREE YMCA passes...make this hotel the ideal place to spend vacations or even entire summers on the Outer Banks.
