Number of days on the road: 13. Number of states driven through: 13. Number of miles traveled: over 5700. Number of speeding tickets: 3. The cost of driving cross country: priceless! My cousin and I "took the long" way so that we can see America. Here is my retrospective of that adventure which I would like to share with the TravBuddy world.

Don't Eat Chinese Food in Middle America!

We headed out of the Fort Worth area via Interstate 820 W and the Interstate 35 W.  Since Mar and I were sort of in the neighborhood and since we were planning to drive through that area anyways, we decided to visit our cousin Philip who was stationed in Wichita Falls, Texas.  From the I 35 W we hooked up with US-287 N/US-81N.  We met Philip during his lunch hour at the Sonic's parking lot.  We then followed Philip to some Chinese restaurant in town.   It was probably one of the worst Chinese food places I have eaten at...in after thought...we probably should have just eaten at Sonic...oh well.  After lunch, we quickly checked out Philip's home.  Soon enough, he had to head back to work and we had to hit the road again.
