Number of days on the road: 13. Number of states driven through: 13. Number of miles traveled: over 5700. Number of speeding tickets: 3. The cost of driving cross country: priceless! My cousin and I "took the long" way so that we can see America. Here is my retrospective of that adventure which I would like to share with the TravBuddy world.

Our destination...Western North Carolina.  You are all probably wonder why we headed back into North Carolina...right?  Well my cousin and I wanted some outdoor adventure...to see and experience nature at its finest.  So Western North Carolina was the obvious choice.  But the outdoor activities would have to wait until tomorrow.  Our accommodations for the next 2 nights was the Days Inn Biltmore East.

The Days Inn Biltmore East is easily accessible from the Interstate 40 and US 70 in western North Carolina. The hotel has all the standard amenities like cable television, heated pool, and complimentary continental breakfast. The best thing about this hotel is its LOCATION! Nearby attractions are the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Chimney Rock Park, and Lake Lure. Since it is situated in the mountains, local activities include hiking, water rafting, and golf. The downside is that the hotel is adjacent to the railroad tracks. None the less, this place was a welcome retreat after our long day of driving and exploring the local mountains.
