Exploring Pest

We were tired so we linger in the hotel in the morning before we head out to the Pest side by tram, as we have lunch appointment at one of the best restaurant (review separately).  Apparently we do not have much time to explore the Pest area, as it takes a while to find our way to the restaurant.

We arrived on time at the restaurant and the food was amazing.  I would definitely be back to that restaurant if I come back to Budapest.

After lunch we just wonder around looking and taking pictures at the many beautiful old buildings.  Budapest is great, so many beautiful sites and the food was amazing.

But alas, my feet was soo tired after walking so much, so we decided to check the restaurant at the Gresham Palace to have a drink before dinner.

Unfortunately they do not have a restaurant with the view toward the city and river.  And while exploring the hotel, I was drawn by the sound of the piano at the small lounge, and then we decided to have a tea and enjoy the music before dinner.

Little did we know that our tea is a very expensive high tea (probably more expensive than our lunch).  Everything at this place scream luxury and they served the tea with a very beautiful porcelain. But …I love everything and we were really being pamper at this place in term of the food and the service.

After finished high tea, we definitely cannot eat anymore – so we say good bye to dinner.  We were really stuff like a “Thanks giving turkey”.

From there we walk to another hotel to check if they have a restaurant with a good view toward the Buda site.  Interestingly, we could not find any, since they only have restaurant on the ground floor and not on the top floor with a view.

Finally we settle for the boat restaurant called “Spoon” which anchor right at the river and facing the Buda side.  We have a very good view from the deck.  We only have drinks at this place but the view was great.

After a bit tipsy from the wines, we walk across the bridge to go back to our hotel and we take the 19thcentury cable car to go up the castle hill.  We take pictures again before heading back to the hotel.  It was a very nice day exploration.
