Athens is a storehouse of myths, the birthplace of philosophers, the monastery of torn down columns and armless statues, the cradle of civilization. This abundance of monuments and places for a family entertainment cannot be visited without a car. So the first thing we did after landing was obviously hiring a car at Athens airport. It is the matter of fact that car rental in Athens is deservedly popular and demanded. Then, we ate a lot and went sightseeing.

If you are going to Athens with kids or relatives, you must surely have fun there with the whole family. Here is the list of the best things we did and had a lot of fun in this ancient city:

We visited the Copa Copana Aqua Park. It is open all year round, offering different water activities in summer, and in winter turning into a real winter park with snow slopes for skiers and snowboarders, as well as a large skating rink for skaters. Summer attractions of Copa Copana are designed for every taste and age. There is a wonderful children's playground built in the form of a fairy town on the water. On the territory of the water park there is a shop, various cafes and bars.

Allou Fun Park is considered the best amusement park in Greece. And, I totally agree with this. The park is designed for visitors of all ages and for convenience is divided into recreation areas for adults and children, which is priceless for couples with kids. The largest wheel "Panorama", "Falling Tower", rafting, shooting range, fishing other attractions will not leave anyone indifferent and will give an excellent mood. There is a special place for kids from 3 to 12 called Kidom. On the territory of the park, there are a lot of cafes, bars, restaurants, confectioneries and souvenir shops. We attended it in the second half of the day, because in the morning it was closed.

The Wall Sport Climbing Center is another great place to relax with the whole family. It's more than just a climbing wall, it's a whole package of services for people who prefer an active lifestyle! We went all the way from the beginner level to the almost professional climber under the strict guidance of an experienced instructor. Our smallest members of the family made their first steps in mountaineering here too. For children, there are various training courses on rock climbing, as well as different recreational activities and games.

One day, we decided to leave our car and hired bicycles. That bicycle tour of Athens gave us an opportunity to get acquainted with the most famous buildings and places of Athens. Biking in Athens is very developed. During the trip, a professional guide shows you the Acropolis, the temple of Zeus, the theater of Dionysus and other sights. You can choose a tour in accordance with the level of physical training - from a light three-hour to an intense multi-day.

There is also the Hellenic Children's Museum in one of the buildings in the heart of Athens. As the name implies, the basis of the museum's collection is the children's creative work. There are regularly held thematic classes and master classes - culinary, creative, theatrical, as well as games for the development of logic and attention. It was very interesting to visit this museum not only for our children, but also all the adults had a lot of fun. So, if suddenly your kid gets tired of endless columns, ancient ruins and vessels, you can always go to the Children's Museum.

Do not forget! If you have not tried the real olives and feta cheese - your trip was meaningless. Feel like real Greeks!
