The Summary

The Ruhr District is one of Germany's most underrated regions. Its old image as a dirty industrial zone simply isn't true any more. Since the end of coal mining in the 1980, it has transformed into a suprisingly green zone with clear rivers and lakes. Its 53 cities offer loads of cultural events and attractions.
