A holiday trek

TravBuddy gets a ‘thank you’ for this adventure.  Sima (simsing) and I had tentatively planned some ventures across the last few years, but things always fell through.  Persistence pays and because Sima is rapidly becoming an outdoor expert of California and the Western United States, things came together when I had to burn a few vacation days before the year ended.  We each proposed different itineraries, but when I saw Antelope Canyon on Sima’s list I was sold!

Now I had to get out West.  It was a positive omen that I had already planned on spending Christmas with my kids and ex-wife at her place in Raleigh.  The airport there is cheaper and quicker than anything from my home base (Wilmington, NC), with the bonus of a free ride to-and-from the terminal that permitted me to dodge parking fees at the same time.

Taking to the friendly skies the day after Christmas, it was a no hassles connection through Dallas and touching down at the Fresno airport on schedule.  Let the adventure begin.
