Maputo

Went then from Tofo to Maputo by bus.
The Portuguese arrived there in 1544 but didn't bother much about that place, in 1721 the Dutch founded there Fort Lydsaamheid and gave it up in 1730 and 1777 there was for a short time a Austrian colonie. 1781 the Portuguese came back and 1875 Maputo, then called Lourenço Marques was founded.1895 the railway to Pretoria was built and 1997 it became the capital of Mozambique.
From Maputo to Ezulwini, Swaziland by minibus. In case you come by minibus from Maputo the drivers want Rand, not Meticals, if you don't have Rands you will get a very bad exchange rate. There are also no moneychangers at the border.
Change all your Meticals before you leave. 80 Rand for the minibus, about 3 hours leaving when full until the afternoon.
