After glaciering we had to go back to Reykavik, if I had more time I would have loved to hang out there for longer, but hey I'm american and we don't believe in vacation time! After hiking on the ice we were starving, but there was no appetizing food. We did not find anything besides gas stations full of tour bus until we hit Skafarheppur.... luckily for us, we hit some delicious burgerz, and at only 30,000 K it was agreat deal.... only thing not to like was the logo was a nun.
Along the way we reached a mysterious pile of rocks. Back in the day some dude lived there and his house got trashed by a volcano, so people leave him rocks for good luck. Not sure, maybe they should have left lumber instead. After finding some rocks and putting them up we continued the drive back.
The one thing I discovered about iceland is the land scape is covered in mountains and little random waterfalls... that and horses.
Finally, we found the black sand beach and caves of Vik. After hanging out there, we finished the 2 hour or so drive to the Hilton Nordica in Reykavik. The vik truckstop also has a famous duty free shop, it actually has the best prices I saw in Iceland for useless junk. After picking up a puffin we were off.
