Lets Go to Hofn

The goal of today was to head off to the secret lagoon for a soak. After that we are going to head to Hoffn along highway 1 to get ready for our glacier caving tour the next day.
The first thing of the day was to get my rental car, which I got from Sixt Rekjavik airport. They actually picked me up at the hotel and drove us to the rental centre to pick up the car, a pretty nice red opal SUV. After that off to the Secret Lagoon which was a great experience. Note the shower inspector was not working, and a few people didn't take showers :(
After the lagoon we hit a road side resturant near Hella where we got some great fish and chips... and kept driving.... and driving. We then saw a parking lot with lots of cars parked and a well marked trail... "Hey lets take this trail" we said.... hoping it would lead to the Vik Black Sand Beach... instead it led to the plane crash remains. Basically a USAF cargo jet crashed here about 40 years ago and you can go to see the remains of it. The crash has been pretty well picked over and maybe half the plane remains. This would have been a great diversion except it took about 90 minutes to go see it.
After that we drove... and drove... and drove, and finally reached Hofn where I ate lots of Lobster :)
And it was cloudy... no northern lights for me
