Aurora borealis on flight to Iceland

With the new budget airline, WOWAIR, leaving Newark Airport, we took the overnight flight to Reykjavik.

I sat on the window seat on the right side of the plane, while my sis and friend were on the left side. Since it was an overnight flight, I easily fell asleep after take off.

Once we arrived in Keflavik airport, my sis immediately told me that they do not need to take the Northern lights tour as they saw it on the plane on the way over! Lucky! Sad that I missed it but oh well...

So I guess I would recommend to everyone to stay awake 3hrs after the flight so you can catch the Northern lights!

I don't know how you do it. I can't sleep on a plane, even when it's night time and I can lay across several empty seats. Good for you though.

Lucky them getting to see it before they even arrived in the country! To be fair, it's not something you would expect to see from the plane...
