Quick visit to Luzern

On our second day in Switzerland we first decided to go to Luzern. The trip there was very beautiful but we couldn't really see any big mountains because the cloud had returned overnight and was very low. There was a bit of rain during our drive but fortunately it stopped when we arrived in Luzern.

Because we had a few more things planned for the day we only had a relatively brief stay in Luzern. We had a stroll around the city briefly and realised that we couldn't see the mountain across the lake, either. So we had lunch by the river in the hope the cloud would clear a little, but we never saw any more than the lower part and it might as well have been a hill as far as we could tell. Matt, who had not really been into a proper mountainous  area before, was probably very disappointed. We left rather quickly after lunch because we knew that we'd have to drive through the mountains to get to Interlaken and Grindelwald - our two next stops today - and hoped we'd have more luck there.
