Ayia Napa, Cyprus Travel Photos
August 12, 2007
I believe it is very important for trabuddies to review their own country and suggest to the other travellers the best places to visit! After spending my summer in Cyprus I realized again how beautiful it is and how much fun one can have there. So, I give you the best beaches in Ayia Napa and Protaras according to my cypriot taste!
The first thing one has to think about before choosing a beach in Cyprus is whether one wants a fully packed party beach or exactly the opposite. I'll give out suggestions for both tastes..So for party freaks:
1. Nissi Beach: This is the ultimate party beach in Ayia Napa. The beach where all the party people from Ayia Napa end up at about 2o clock in the afternoon to start partying again. The beach itself is beautiful to see, the sea not the best you can get! too warm for my taste!
2.Sunrise Beach in Protaras: This is the place where a lot of Cypriots go to, a complete chaos, lots of bars near the beach. This is a beach where you can get yourself a lovely swim! If it wasn't so packed I would definetely consider it as a very good choice!
3. Grecian Bay in Ayia Napa: I wouldn't say that this beach is packed with people. It has the ideal number of people, mostly foreigners (not so many Cypriots). It is an amazing beach and a lovely sea to swim in. This summer Grecian Bay was my main choice! I would definetely reccomend it to everyone. It has also a very cool beach bar that sligtly gives a Carribean impression.
The more intimate beaches:
1. Green Bay in Protaras: It's a sweet little beach in Protaras, never too packed because its so small as well. The sea is light blue and calm, gives an impression of Greek islands..Great place for a beach party and a great place to relax near the sea! Oh I wish i was there now!
2. Cavo Maris beach: Its close to Green Bay beach, it has all the potentials to be your favourite beach if you go on weekdays and not weekends! Some people though have complained that some times it's a bit dirty. I would risk visiting it. If you are not happy you can always walk to Green Bay which is 3 minutes away.
For any more informations please ask me! :)
