Seattle weather

Photos and travels in my adopted city. An attempt to understand American culture and language.
Despite its reputation as a city deluded with rain, Seattle actually has excellent weather. Summers are warm and dry, with day time maximums usually in the mid-20s C (70s F). Summer days typically have beautiful blue skies, occasionally with cloud cover in the mornings. Winters are quite mild considering its latitude, the minimums rarely drop below 0 C (32 F) and typically it will only snow once or twice a year, with snow cover only lasting a day or two. Rain and cloud cover is frequent during winter and spring, but is usually only a few drops of very light rain during the morning, so while it rains on more days than average, the total rainfall is actually lower than New York or similar cities. Extreme weather is so rare that any snow or even a decent downpour of rain incapacitates the entire city, so don't expect roads or bridges to function if you have the bad luck to be in Seattle the week after a storm.
