Waterford to Killarney

Up about 6am and down to breakfast by 7. A fair amount of choices so I had a good start. First stop for the day was the Waterford Crystal Factory. We had a one hour tour of the manufacturing process and then the gallery. Lots of beautiful work and I got several nice pictures.
Next stop Blarney Castle. I was really looking forward to something. But when we got there it was like southern California. The Blarney Woolen Mills superstore, selliing mens and womens clothing, Crystal, Porcilan, Books, chidrens wear, and of course souvenirs wa right there at the large parking lot. No castle in sight. A sign pointed across the lot to a trail which wound a ways to an entry point gate and builiding. 7 euros fee. We still could not see the castle. We heard there are 130 steps up to where you kiss the Blarney stone.
On to Killarney where we will be for two nights. We got in around 4:30pm and decided to check out town tonight rather than the optional dinner and show. We finally found a great little place to eat off the main drag and had a wonderful dinner. The name of this great little place was Caragh Resaurant (see review) Inexpensive and super good food. We even splurged and had Hot Fudge Cake with Ice Cream and fudge sauce for dessert. Decadent!
Walked back to the hotel and spent the evening writing cards.
