Up showered, dressed and packed for home. Gosh our own bed will feel good.
Breakfast one last time and a very good one at that. Eggs benedict, waffles, lots of meats, fruit, cereals, juices, coffee, tea, etc. Hard to chose which.
At 10am we were down to the lobby for our shuttle bus to the airport. The driver decided to take the long way around so it took us an hour and a half to go the 20 miles to Gatwick. But as we rolled into the terminal area the driver realizes he has a flat tire. Said goodbye to the others on the bus, grabbed our luggage and walked the quarter mile to our terminal building. The others still had plenty of time prior to their flights. We were already late.
Had to check all of our luggage, even my carry-on due to those little swords, which took longer than we wanted.
But finally made it through and onto the plane and off we went. We had one stop in Detroit, where we had about an hour and a half layover. Good thing to. We bought a few cookies and snacks. Turns out that the plane served no meals or even snacks from Detroit to Los Angeles.
Arrived at LA near 9pm and with a few problems got to our hotel there before midnight. The next morning, we drove the two hours home.
And happy to be home, thirty-five days on tours looks good on paper, but it's a long time to be gone when you're busy every day.
