Leaving Utila, Copan Ruinas

Finally managed to leave Utila after a poor showing in my snorkel test. The last test before you become a divemaster is a taking a wholesale quantity of rum, coke beer etc. out of a glorified funnel made out of a snorkel and mask. I was a complete wimp and spat it out after a few seconds and to complete my shame, Ramona, a non drinking German woman wiped the floor with her effort. Oh well.

The next move was by ferry/bus to Copan Ruinas on the northern border of Honduras and Guatemala. Its a sleepy little village which is close to some ancient Mayan ruins. They are pretty impressive- unfortunately no photos since my camera was playing up that day, but you can see more at http://www.copanhonduras.org/aboutcopan.htm It was in Copan that I met up with Yiannis, a Slovienian chimney sweep who was in Honduras, as he told me, "to buy wife". Apparantly Slovienian women are getting a bit uppity these days and expecting all kinds of liberties.

That´s about it about Copan.
