Lago de Atitlian - weekend trip

View of Toliman and Atitlian (dormant volcanoes) overlooking the Lake.

On the weekend I took a mini bus to Lago de Atitlian which is a lake surrounded by 3 dormant volcanoes. It is really beautiful there, the views are amazing.

I spent the night in a town called San Pedro. Hamish, you would have loved it, its bungy central! Loads of people who have come here whilst travelling and decided not to leave. They make bracelets and other types of crafts and probably smoke loads of weed too.

On the Sunday i got up early and climbed San Pedro volcano. It was a tough climb, but the views from the top were amazing i really enjoyed it.

On the way back I had the misfortune of sitting next to someone who had a monumental case of "Guate-gut". the poor guy had to stop the mini bus and complete a number of very public boskaks next to the highway. Hope that doesn´t happen to me.......
