Day of the Dead

On November 1st, Guatemalan´s celebrate the Day of the Dead. Its a national holiday and everyone gathers in the cemetries to build and fly these huge kites. The object is to help the spirits get to the next world.
We went to watch in Santiago de La Cas. which is pretty close to Antigua. They also have a huge market on the day and try and get as much money as possible from the tourists.
The highlight of the day was watching them raise the big kites, - about 20 meters in diameter.
