Cartagena, Christmas on Isla Pirata

We managed to make it OK into Cartagena, a bit shaken by the antics of the minibus driver. Spent the day walking around the old centre where they used to store the Spanish gold before taking it back to the king in Espain.
We had a fantastic christmas. We went to an island called Isla del Pirata which is part of an archipelago off the coast of Colombia. It is south west of Cartagena.
The island itself is tiny and has no phone, cars, internet or TV - so its a real break from civilization. There´s lots to do - lie in a hammock and read a book, lie in a hammock and play scrabble, lie in a hammock and sleep, lie in a hammock... you get the idea...!
Christmas day was great too, we got up early to open pressies (we actually had a reasonably large stack considering!) and have our toast of champers at 8am. Huge thanks to the respective moms for Christmas box and pressies, it really made the day special. I promise i wore the turkey hat for a while! We ate the mince pies before breakfast, had the wine at lunch (white) and dinner (red) and the christmas cake after pudding.... so it was a normal christmas day on the over indulgence front. What wasn´t normal was eating fish for Christmas dinner!
On Boxing day and the 27th we just relaxed more, went on a boat cruise to some other islands and took the sea kayak out a couple of times.
