We stayed at the Mont Rest Bed and Breakfast (see review).  We arrived and checked in and then decided to explore a little bit before dinner reservations.  We walked around town, though didn't stray far from the house today.  The shops around town were closed by the time we got into town, so there wasn't much to do besides walk around.

After a nice dinner we went back to the house and were able to get into the rooftop hot tub for a while.  This was nice because it overlooked the city.  The house was on one of the highest bluffs and we could see the Mississippi along with the rest of the town.  The hot tub was closed to the rest of the guests after 10pm and only available to our room (we splurged and got top-of-the-line room with 24 hour hot tub access.)

The next day we had a nice home cooked breakfast and enjoyed it with another couple and the owner of the bed and breakfast.  The breakfast consisted of country style eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, sweet rolls, fruit, fresh juices and coffee.  It was a pleasant breakfast, though a little akward sharing it with people we didn't know very well.  The owner made it feel very comfortable and was extremely talkative.  Not having ever been to a bed and breakfast before I didn't know what to expect, but it was very comfortable and relaxing.

We spent the day walking around town again and up and down the Mississippi.  We watched the barges go through the locks.  The process was interesting to watch and was something that, even though not the most exciting thing to see, I am glad to say that I saw.
