This blog is not the story of a big trip. It will contain few short breaks in some European cities.

Arriving in Jerez

Almost 3 hours after we left Sansted Airport in London, we landed with a very nice sunset in Jerez Airport. No doubt about it; we are now far away from England where winter seems to start already! It is still summer in Spain, at least in Andalucia: 25°C min at night!

We took a cab to reach our hotel in the town center of Jerez for 15€. It lasted less than ½ hour. Then, it was time to find a place to eat paella!!

We were wandering randomly in the town centre, going towards the Cathedral, when we were stopped by a crowd with candles everywhere. In front of us, a big altar followed by a band (trumpets, flutes, drums…) crossed the way to go to the Cathedral.
We learnt later that the 9th of October is a bank holiday in Jerez. They celebrate the Saint of the town, San Donisio. It was nice to see a cultural celebration!

We finally ate paella in a simple but nice café in one of the numerous places in the town. It was so amazing to be sat on a terrace at night, only wearing a summer top and still being hot. I mean, even in the middle of summer, it is rare in England!
