After another night out on the town in Manchester and only 3 hours sleep, I caught a train to The Lakes District, England. Mental note to self - don't drink too much if travelling the next day. Had to have a nap when I arrived.. oops!
Lake Windermere is the largest lake in England and the lakes district the most visited area in England. Thus, it was extremely busy! I tried to escape the crowds as much as I could by going on a couple of walks. The views were amazing and i felt in my element. I'd made an effort (during my hangover day) to see Miss Potter at the movies, as it was filmed on location at the Lakes District. I figured if I wasn't up to getting out and about, I may as well check out the area on film! So, on my final day I went to hilltop, where Beatrix Potter lived. It was extremely busy, but good to see some of the inspiration for her Peter Rabbit etc books. Could easily have spent more than 2 nights here.. one of the places i'll have to go back to!
