Emma is a sexy flighty architect. Lucy is a hilarious eccentric linguist. They are going to Thailand! And Cambodia. And Vietnam!

More boats

We moved from Hat Rin to Krabi, which is on the mainland but on the other side. We caught another ferry/bus combination, which ended up taking much longer than we'd wanted and we missed a whole day of sun. We were starting to worry about the state of our tans.

We met two lovely lovely Israeli girls, Noaa and Hagiit, and decided to go to Railay (the climber's beach) with them. To get there, we had to get yet another longtail. This one was driven by a twelve year old boy and I feared for my life. My boat-lives were being used at an alarming rate.

I liked Railay. It had a lovely atmosphere. The two girls invited us to their incredibly plush room, and we made friends. The next day, however, we had to leave, in favour of going to Ko Phi Phi, the islands hit worst by the tsunami.

It was hard work to get off Railay. We had to get another longtail back to Krabi, where we ended up being stranded waiting for a ferry to Phi Phi for about five hours. It rained, a lot. Krabi is boring.
