Lopburi is famous for being full of monkeys

and with good reason.
It is full of monkeys.
For me, it was too many monkeys. I was scared that at any moment they might form an impromptu monkey army and held Em and I hostage for better bananas or more windscreen wipers or whatever it is that monkeys desire.
We got into Lopburi station at 3am off the sleeper train. We waited for dawn, walked around Lopburi and then walked to the bus station to get the hell out. There is nothing to do in Lopburi once you've seen the monkeys, and you can't avoid the damn things.
I've filled my monkey quota for this year.
