Attention exotic shoppers,
the Marrakech market might be the coolest shoping spree you've ever gone to... silver rings and bracelets, all with amazing North African motives, beautiful djellabas -which are traditionnal dresses for men and women-, amazing lamps, sculptures, musical instruments, great leather goods... And of course a pair of babouches, those morrocan slippers you won't be able to stop wearing!
Or just simply wander around, paying attention to the colors, the smells, the feelings... a moroccan market is a magical place. But one but must be armed with patience, because you might make a lot of friends... merchands who want to give you the best price and show you that what he's got is really the best you could find. Bargaining is a beautiful tradition for those who have a sense for it.
But I think the best part , is the end of the day, when you have half of your forearm covered with bracelets, and when the sun begins to fade, to transform itself into a painter of the skies, exploding with colours and light. That's when you sit at a café, doing some people-watching while enjoying a well deserved mint tea.
