Stunningly Beautiful sunny day in Reykjavík! Lia and I walked over 20,000 steps today, 9 miles exploring! Went to the top of the church tower in an elevator with people from Atlanta!

Enjoyed lunch at Glo, (thanks for the rec, Charlie & Marti!), a wonderful vegetarian restaurant.

Bought local yarn for my sister to knit Lia an Icelandic sweater.

Of course walked the wrong direction around the swimming pool beside our campground. It is the largest pool in Iceland!

Anyway, we ended up at the far end of the building, where a stadium game was just about to start. It turned out to be the National Stadium of Iceland!!!  And there was a practice game for the European Cup!! It is the first time in history that Iceland has qualified and they play Lichtenstein soon.  The stadium was full and we stood outside the fence with many others, who explained all the excitement to us.

"Come on, Iceland!" cheer will forever be remembered. That was so very exciting!!

We did make it around to door to the pool and ended the night with a swim in the pool, and soaks in several of 5 hot tubs, meeting lots of locals. The waterslide was three stories high and had blackout sections and groovy lights! Lots of fun! We are getting used to all the rules of showering naked before swimming and Lia took a picture of the sign suggesting specific areas to wash.

People are very kind here, like in Atlanta. Lovely country!
