Sat June 11:
Great day today involving new friends, waterfalls, a long drive across rugged mountains with gravely steep roads, and incredible scenery!

We stopped at an overlook and saw the couple that were riding their bike yesterday, around the Dettifoss Falls completely desolate area (think Death Valley barren), so we asked if they needed any food or water or supplies since nothing was around for many, many miles. They were self-sufficient and didn't, but indicated they were celebrating his 70th birthday in August! From their place in Reykjavík, they are biking the 808 mile ring road! Now that's an inspiration!!!

I'm so late tonight in because we met a wonderful couple from Los Angeles and had so much fun talking with them at dinner (as well as a girl from the Czech Republic and a guy from Colombia, S. America!) that it is now after midnight! Our LA friends are on their honeymoon and run a Burning Man camp – how fun is that?! Awesome, awesome good time! Of course, someone from a nearby tent had to come tell us to be quiet, as it was after midnight, but I promise it wasn't me being rowdy! :-)

Also, guess who we ran into tonight?! Yes indeed! Julian and Patrick! They actually suggested we get our picture taken together  :-)

Also, we have, in honor of our RV at home, Ciao Baby, named our Icelandic Jeep RV, Bless Baby. "Bless" means "goodbye" in Icelandic! :-)
