Valletta, the capital of the country on a bright Saturday afternoon

Quite honestly, I don't know how I settled on visiting Malta but in retrospect, I'm bloody glad I did. I'd toyed with the idea since a friend of mine visited a few years ago. What was comforting was that English was  widely spoken and written, and that it's a relatively safe country.

If anything, the only big question was - how long do I stay here? Is 5 days a bit much? Turns out it was ideal. Scratch that - in retrospect, even a 6th wouldn't have hurt! Malta being part of the Schengen was another blessing as I didn't need to apply for a new visa as my existing Schengen was still valid. So all in all, it seemed  quite easy - between borrowing my friend's itenerary and reading up some of Lonely  Planet, I was good to visit.

Like in most of my blogs, I've uploaded the highlights on this page to those that don't have the time to read the whole blog. All in all, brilliant!
