"So I glance out the Study Window" . . .

Green Snake on our roof
"So I glance out the Study Window"That was the subject of the e-mail . . .

I was at work when my husband e-mailed me a picture of a snake.  It was on the roof.  It appeared to have been crawling from under the roof to the top.  Maybe it was in the attic.

He said it was a Green Snake.  They are harmless, supposedly.  Their mouths are not big enough to bite people.  Well, if i have a heart attack, I'd say there's harm in that.

A few weeks ago, I was walking by the garden when I noticed something red.  As I turned my head, it moved.  What could it be? A snake.  UghIt was about 3 feet long and probably at least 2" in diameter.  It was hugging against the house.  When  it saw me, it slowly turned around and went the other way.  I've never seen such a red snake.  I didn't notice any other color on it.  It also seemed strange the way it retreated, moving so slowly.

Snakes don't bother you they say.  Rattle snakes and cobras do to name a few.  And I don't care for any venom.  I'd be happy never to see another snake.

It was not a copperhead. It was too pretty to be one. Nonetheless, scary.

Wonder if that might have been a copperhead snake. They're venomous, but not as much as rattlesnakes.
