So much I wanted to do in so little time! We went to visit Dubai, keeper of the tallest building in the world-The Burj Khalifa. Unfortunately it wasn't too much of a democracy in the decisions of my group and we wound up wandering aimlessly inside the largest mall in the world. We tried to go the Burj Khalifa, but one of my friends was on too tight a budget and it felt wrong if we went without him. I believe we originally attempted to reserve $140 tickets. At least we got a taste of the west (or down under) by eating at an Outback Steakhouse. Got a bit bored. Better luck next time. Will return to Dubai soon.

The next day, we got a jeep tour on a stimulatingly bumpy desert ride. It felt like a literal wave riding experience in the back of a Toyota Landcruiser, except this was hills and mounds of endless sand. We went to a safari camp with some local food and live festivities. It was a pretty immersive cultural experience. Got some trinkets to contribute to my memory.

Next time you come to Dubai, let me know so I give you heads up. By the way, Dubai Mall is not the largest in the world. Don't expect much from Dubai. It is a small city, mainly for luxury hotels and resorts, upscale shopping malls and desert safaris. I cannot think of more options, however, it's indeed a beautiful destination from November until March
