Walking over the Brooklyn Bridge

A church in Park Slope
This has been something that I've wanted to do ever since I moved to Brooklyn. So on the first warm Spring weekend that I had free time, I took a subway to Clark St. where I went over to the river and walked along the Promonade toward the bridge. I went by the ice cream shop at the base of the bridge, but the line was incredibly long (apparently I wasn't the only one this idea on this nice spring day!), and I decided wasn't worth the wait.

So I went back to where the pedestrian entrance to the bridge was (passing Grimaldi's pizzaria) and walked accross the bridge. I have to say that so far it has been one of my favorite New York City experiences. I took a lot of pictures -- however, my camera lens cover wasn't opening all the way, which I didn't realize at the time, so many of the pictures are dark in the upper right and lower left corners. I am planning on getting a new SLR-type camera soon and will return to take more photo because it is a great photographic subject. When I ended up in Manhattan, I got an ice cream cone from the ice cream truck, did a little shopping and then took the subway back home.
