Is that a dead man?

Milton Keynes Travel Blog › entry 1 of 3 › view all entries

Since I live in Milton Keynes (or more affectionately known as Milk n' Beans, don't ask why) and it's not exactly the most visited city in England I thought I would show you what it's like. Here's some ideas for you: Snow dome, shopping centre, Harry potter, swords, temple, swans, flowers, beautiful sunsets, rivers, woods... check it out! Update: Today I discovered a dead munk!

Is that a dead man?

Temple (and where the dead munk was)
Okay, so I just went to show around MK to a friend, we went to the peace pagoda and to the temple which should be a lovely sight. Now, normally the temple is only open through a small door where most people don't know you can go in. Today though, there were lots of cars outside and I was "I wonder what is happening"???? And the temple (like in the picture) was open so you could walk straight in. I thought this was a great opportunity to show my friend the temple so we took off our shoes and went in. Here a buddist munk greated us and pointed if I wanted to lie down on my knees in front of the alter. Hmm well okay, I'm very polite so I bent down on the mat, then he showed me how to drizzle some dust looking thing over an insense stick and so I did. Now he signalled me to stand up. I slowly rose and took a step back, this I shouldn't have done though as I bumped into a small stool behind behind me. Very embarrasing!! He then said "he's right there". I'm like thinking yes I see the picture. "No, no, he is in the box". Ehhh... box, like, OH!!! Coffin!!! there was a dead munk in an open coffin!! And how did he die??? He was killed by a lawn mover..... how terrible and weird and sad! I hope he's in a good place. What a strange day...

yeah it's pretty cool, not a lot of people know about it though. It's at North Willen Lake, right next to the Peace Pagoda (you need to go 5 mins in car to get there). And they have flower festivals and lots of other neat stuff. If you want to go inside on a regular day though just go to the small door on the left and ask if it's okay to see the temple (making sure they are not in a prayer or other arrangements).
