We missed our off ramp and had to pull over to get directions at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center in town. Then woman looked at me as if I was retarded when I asked for directions but she gave them to me. Pretty much turn left and follow until you fall off canyon.
Those clouds I mentioned earlier, they were no overhead. Now I'm from California I barely see rain all year long this was a downpour! It began to rain heavily. The windshield wipers were not in the best shape and they barely moved the rain.
We drove up to the canyon and pulled over. I had seen it before but my mom and niece had never seen it. They were joking around and disbelieveing until they turned the last bend and see the Grand Canyon in all its splendor and they were awed and amazed! It really is one of those great sights. Something so bigger than life and harder to explain and even worse to try to take a picture of because even photos cannot show it justice.
We walked around and took silly pictures. Then went to the gift shop where I made a spectacle of myself by dropping a whole load of metallic rocks that wasn't metallic enough when you make a whole chain of them. I bought some souveneers and we were again on our way. We got gas for $2.59 (an absolute score!) and off we go.
