Ilidza( spa in Turkish) is the most beautiful  suburb of Sarajevo by the River Zeljeznica, located on the healthy underground waters.
There are modern spas and hotels, recreational and bathing complex with underground thermal and mineral waters, numerous sports fields, bike paths and walking trails. Velika Aleja is an attractive promenade from place Ilidza to Vrelo Bosne, 3.5 km long, with trees planted back in 1888. Horse drawn chariots are still transporting visitors to the source of the river Bosna. Vrelo Bosne, a monument of nature, is a perfect place for romantic walks or family picnics. Near the springs there is the Bridge on Plandište, a Turkish stone bridge from the Middle Ages.

The ancient Romans and Ottomans built spas right here at the thermal springs. In the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire it was a fashionable center of Sarajevo. They built hotels "Hungaria" ( later Herzegovina), "Austria" ( later Serbia), "Bosna", "Jadran"( today Crystal), a large number of villas in the Alley.

Every autumn there is held Festival of folk music Ilidza. There is a famous song sevdalinka abot Ilidza "Vino piju, nane, age Sarajlije". Weddings in national costumes is a tradition here.
