In may (on my birthday) we travelled to SAL Cape Verde / Cabo Verde. We stayed for a week.
If you travel from Western Europe. Fly from Dusseldorf. It's the best DIRECT flyght to Sal and not expensive.
The airport of Sal is created by South Africa airlines to make a stop. For the people in Cape Verde it's a chance for a better economic situation. The people in Sal are poor. And now they can work in tourism. There are around 4 hotels in Sal. Riu is the best and the biggest. The hotel was fantastic. And the food great!
The sea is beautifull and the sandy beaches are fantastic! The people are friendly and there are some amazing Hot Spots.
One week is enough to see everything and to rest.
What do do?
Snorkeling!!!!!! The underwaterview is great!
Eat real Cape Verdian food, it's nice!
See a fata morgana!
See the blue Eye!
The Hot Spots are amazing but the island is very dry. It did not rained for 15 years. The people have nothing. They can not cultivate any sort of food. So everything is import and very expensive for the people.
Visit this country! It's amazing and do it now because I think in a few years it will be a second Tenerife.
