Poland, the land of my love... Kolbasa!

Krakow Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

Snowboarding, vodka, sausage and not understanding a single word of Polish is an assured recipe for one hell of a good time!
Stayed here for 3 days. Nice hostel, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Arranged for someone to pick us up at the airport (11pm) and take us back (5am)! My only complaint is that its a bit out of the way. In Kazimierz, but not really close to the bars or sights of that area.
You can barely see the red sign-...
One of the best meals of my life. This is a milk bar- basically a communist era peasant cafeteria, but this one is more homey than the others. Entrees at about 4 zloty (1 euro, $1.30) and main dishes at around 10 zloty (2.5 euros, $3.30). Literally ordered almost everything on the menu and the total was around $15. Ordered (among other things) Red Borsch- beet soup, and Bigos (sauerkraut/cabbage dish with meat and sausage in it). Bigos is now my favorite food in the world, it sounds kind of gross, but don't knock it till you try it. I tried it again at a Polish resto in Paris, and was nearly as wonderful. Anybody who wants incredible Polish food at crazy cheap prices- this place is for you! Plus, they have an English menu, which helps those of us who only know djinkwei (no idea how to spell that, but it means thank you) and nostrovia- cheers!
Nothing to do with the restauran...
