The Raj and the rest

Old Delhi - street scene

We are being very hospitably entertained by Hil's Canadian relatives in the Embassy compound.  Today we went to Raj era Delhi, and then on into Old Delhi. Visited a sadhu "camp", said prayers (or had prayers said around us),and wandered the bazaars and markets. Mike couldn't resist a visit to Delhi Junction Station (as a recce for our later travels!!) - not quite like Victoria, as nobody was rushing about with Starbucks in their hands. Rather lots of people were lying around waiting... Tomorrow, more of the Raj and on to Connaught Place, using Peter and Susie's driver. And today, we did use the new Delhi metro - beautifully clean, efficient and cheap. A bit of a shock to find the Compound pool has to have its water cooled!

Next from Ladakh. Bet you can't wait.
