Indolent in India-lite
Back to Delhi and only a couple of days left in India. Where's the time gone? Our week of sun, sea and sand in Goa is going to be a great preparation for the shock of English winter. Palolem was wonderfully relaxed and relaxing. All we did, apart from a short taxi outing to an old Portuguese fort, was to idle along the beach, eat, drink, swim and people-watch. It's quite unusual, probably unique, for us to be so indolent on holiday for a full week.
Goa was certainly a different India from the one we'd most recently been travelling in. It was cleaner, calmer, tidier. Traffic essentially obeyed the rules of the road, and kept left. Cars tooted less, the young men on their motorbikes were less aggressive, obvious poverty was less in evidence. We saw no street sleepers on our dawn drive back to the airport. India-lite!
