Ever been Catamaraning?

Henderson Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

I spent 5 hours with my 9 yr old and 11 year old hiking in the Uinta Mountains. It was only a 2 mile hike to the Falls and a life long memories with my kids. From my home it's only a 10 minute drive, and it's in the middle of the Uinta Mountains(Rocky Mountains)My daughter calls Stewart Falls the Fairy Falls. My kids both couldn't resist running under the falls, and we were dried by the time we hiked back to my car. (BTW... the map somehow thinks this is Henderson, NV.Tried to change it.Sorry!

Ever been Catamaraning?

I have an uncle that is a Hobie Catamaran Racer. He goes all over the world to race, and as a matter of fact he is going to Fiji soon to Race in a Regatta there.

He lives in Henderson Nevada. This is about a 20 minute drive from Las Vegas. If you want to do something new and different and tired of seeing the same thing over and over when you go to Las Vegas... Go to the Hobie Beach at Lake Mead. The easiest way to get there is Drive on Highway 95 (now also called 515 ) towards Boulder City. There is an Albertsons on your right as you wind around teh road going into the MAIN entrance of the Lake. After you pay the 5 dollar fee to get into the Lake Area, the FIRST right you come to, take it. then, there is a dirt road on your LEFT  take that. The third right you come to. make that, and you will see all the sails. Ask anyone there if they would or could  give you a ride on the Cats. If they aren't already out racing, ti's amazing. They are always looking for new faces and are always willing to answer questions. They will even help you find a Hobie Cat Chapter in your home town!

Thanks for the info! Too often people concentrate on Vegas and miss the fun adventures just a stone's throw away :-D
