We did alot of driving again today, down through Galway, Limerick, Adare, Newcastle West, Abbeyfeale and Tralee until looking for a campsite on the coast north of Tralee. We stopped at Galway which had a very continental feel about it. It was nice to see lots of smaller shops instead of the chains we are used to. We were surprised to see beggars around as this is something we don't see in the same way at home. There were also alot of buskers. We stopped for some time at Adare also where there was a wedding going on. We liked it here.
We didn't like the look of the campsite at Ardfert. It was very big and regimented with alot of children running around so we would have to keep a very close eye on the dog (she gets frightened by children when they are noisy). We drove as far north as Ballybunion (lovely name!) looking for somewhere but sites marked on the map and directed to by local people didn't materialise so we ended up back at Ardfert. It's saving grace was the beach which was fantastic and during the short time we were there (1 night), we had about 3 walks along it. One of those was while we waited for the camp reception to open so we could get tokens for the showers. They'd omitted to tell us that when we booked in and didn't open the shop until 10am! Tents felt very close to each other, not least because there was quite a nasty row going on between a couple in one nearby :s
The sunset was magnificent
