Rach and Lindsay
We woke up this morning and headed out to see the sites! Since this is Rachel's first time in DC, we went to the National Mall to see the Smithsonian National Gallery. We saw the Monets and left shortly after a little detour through the gift shop. We then went on to the Washington Monument, World War II Monument, the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam War Monument. We then hoped in a cab and headed to Georgetown
. After about two stores worth of shopping Rachel and I headed to Mr. Smith's Pub to grab a beer while Lindsay and Julia goofed off in Sephoria. When they met up with us at the pub it was off to find lunch. We ended up eating at Rugby Cafe.
The food was okay but the sangria was better. The place seems to cater to the college crowd. The place is also connected to the Ralph Lauren Rugby store. Call me crazy but food and clothes don't really mix in my book. After that we headed back to Lindsay's house and I had about 10 minutes to change and head back out the door to meet my old colleagues from when I was an intern up here. It was so great to see them! After having drinks, Nancy wouldn't let us walk to Capital Lounge and I'm not about to turn down a free ride! A lot of my friends were at Capital Lounge and it was great to see them again. It's been two years! The bar was a lot of fun. Julia and Lindsay ended up meeting us here. We all had plans of heading somewhere else but when the beer is flowing, plans often change. -Kate
