Yomdrok Lake & the great mother nature

On the way up to Deprung Monastry
Monasteries are plentiful throughout Tibet and it was interesting for us to visit one of the largest in Shigatse -Deprung Monastery. Again we witnessed the sincere religious devotion of the Tibetan people.
However, much as the visits to the cultural and religious places were interesting, we enjoyed more the Tibetan nature and magnificent sceneries. We had a memorable visit to Yomdrok Lake which is one of the three holy lakes on the Tibetan Plateau. This huge lake spans 130 kilometers long from east to west and 70 kilometers wide from north to south. The scenery of the clear turquoise blue water in the lake with the reflection of the surrounding mountains was awesome and we had a 360 degree view of the mountains.
We spent some quality time with Mother Nature and enjoyed the quiet moments with the vast nature on the way back to Lhasa from Shigatse. The beautiful scenery of the mountains, rushing rivers, vast river deltas, lakes, gorges and the autumn foliage was really unforgettable.
