I recently traveled to Cheyenne, WY to visit a friend of mine who is living out there. The last week in July is Frontier Days which is the biggest event in Cheyenne all year. Its 10 days or rodeos, concerts and carnival rides. It was my first rodeo. I flew into Denver which is like an hour and a half from Cheyenne. We went to the rodeo, went to the Gretchen Wilson, Cowboy Troy and Big n Rich concert and then went to Estes Park, CO. Took a 3 hour horseback ride into the Rockies.

Cowpoke Corral offers a great experience for any level of horseback riding. I was a little leary of taking the 3 hour tour. I thought it might be a bit much, since I do not have much experience. They offer different lengths of tours. The most they recommend for inexperienced riders is 3 hours though I think. Our ride was great. Our guide, Matt was excellent. It was a small group, my two friends and I and a mother and daughter (she was around 12 I think and it was her first time). The horses were great, well trained. Mine was a bit of a slow poke, always bringing up the rear. We rode up a mountain and then back down. The views were breathtaking. And I thought that $60 for a three hour trip was very reasonable. I highly recommend this corral.
