Manila Couch Divers Group was conceived during a get together of the Manila Couch Surfers over beer and live music.  And on the faithful day of 28 October, 2007, 5 of it's founding members were transported to AquaVenture Reef Club for the much anticipated and talked about Inaugural Dive.  One of which is yours truly, of course! This is going to be my first drift-dive and so I hardly slept the night before. :D

First dive was at the site called Saddle, named so because of three saddle-like structures that forms the reef. The expected current hit us hard and so we hung on to some rocks after our descend and before too long, we commenced our so termed "electric dive"! Our group comprises of 2 seasoned divers, Ryan and Lu-ann, together with almost newbies JL, Zarah, and myself, who among us averages 15 dives in our log book.

Currents were fast and coming from all directions and we fought hard but all the time having the time of our lives.

For the record, some of us met for the first time, but the group's chemistry was fantastic. We had so much fun diving, bonding, and laughing over our miscommunications, that we've made a compact to be doing this for many dives to come. Already prepping for the next adventure as you're reading this. Next stop: Subic Wrecks! :D
