From Sat. July 7th to Wed. July 11th I had the pleasure to visit the ASPB meeting in Chicago. Although the scientific value of the conference did not meet my expectations I had a great time in the city. After a short flight and taxi drive I arrived at the Chicago Hilton were the conference was held. After getting my key card I met with Markus (my boss) in our room. As it was around lunch time we went to the Taste of Chicago five minutes away from our hotel to grab some food. We found it in form of very tasty turkey leg with BBQ sauce. Satisfied we went on to Millennium Park where we took the obligatory pictures of the bean. Then we had to get back to the hotel for the first interesting talk of the evening by Ken Keegstra. Afterwards I met with Tiffany a friend of mine who was also at the conference. For dinner we went again to Taste of Chicago. Afterwards we walked through downtown Chicago and listened to a requiem in the Pritzker Pavilion. Finally we landed at Pizzeria Uno (the original one) where we sat outside and enjoyed a very reasonable priced bottle of Chianti.
